New school year - how about a new hobby?

How about a new challenge this Autumn?  Try joining a local choir. Come and see how much you benefit from a good sing once a week - it will improve your mental and physical wellbeing and it's a lot of fun!   The new term starts on Thursday 12th September at St Peter's Church Hall, Henleaze BS9 4LD.  Give us a ring to tell us you are coming or email us using the button above.

Background

Originally started as the Townswomen's Guild Choir and latterly renamed Henleaze Ladies' Choir, we continue to go from strength to strength under the watchful baton of our Conductor, Jane English and our able pianist, Matthew Thomas.

We meet weekly on Thursday afternoons, starting in September and going through to May, at St Peter's Hall, Henleaze, Bristol breaking for Christmas and Easter holidays. The Sessions start at 1.45pm and last two hours, and our programmes include a wide variety of music from classical to contemporary, songs from the shows to religious repertoire. Rehearsals are light-hearted and accessible to all - there is no need to read music, though we do sing from printed music which means you will acquire the skill as time goes on! Word sheets can be made available if singing from the score is too complicated. The emphasis is on enjoyment, so do come along and have a go!

Performing two charity concerts a year in December and May we also hold open sessions at least once a term when you can come and sit in on a rehearsal, join in the singing, buy a plant or a book and most importantly, eat cake! We also sing at other venues on occasion, and even featured on Channel 4's Old People's Home for  4-Year Olds Christmas special.
