Ladies Dazzling Performance! 

Henleaze Ladies’ Choir, conducted by Jane English, were in splendid voice at their afternoon summer concert and gave a sparkling performance of ‘Razzle Dazzle’ from the hit musical ‘Chicago’. The concert, featuring a range of music from Brahms to Gilbert and Sullivan, was in aid of the charity Home-Start Bristol, which offers a lifeline of support and friendship to families with young children who are going through difficult times. £250 was collected at the concert and further amounts raised through a linked appeal on Facebook meant that the choir have been able to forward a total of £860.00 to the charity. 

Henleaze Ladies’ Choir, which meets on a Thursday afternoon at St Peter’s Church Hall, Henleaze, perform two charity concerts each year, in December and May, with the charities chosen by the members. There are no auditions to join the Choir and the aim is to enjoy singing a wide repertoire of music together and to give pleasure to audiences.  

The choir is now on a summer break, but will be back to start singing again on Thursday 12th September. New members are always assured of a warm and friendly welcome, so do come along and give us a try!

Ladies hit the right notes for the Julian Trust!

Members of Henleaze Ladies’ Choir, conducted by Jane English, were delighted to collect over £300 at their December concert for Bristol’s Julian Trust, a charity which provides food and nightshelter for the homeless. This year, the Choir linked their charity concert to a Facebook fundraising appeal and are thrilled that a combined total of £1,094 has been raised for the Julian Trust.

There are no auditions to join the Choir and the aim is to enjoy singing a wide repertoire of music together and to give pleasure to audiences. The Choir are holding an afternoon of singing, tea and cakes at 1.45pm on 11th April at St Peter’s Church Hall, Henleaze. Entrance is £3, which includes tea, cake and a raffle ticket. The Choir’s next charity concert is on May 16th at 2pm in St Peter’s Church Hall and will be in aid of Home Start – Bristol and their work with families with young children.
